I am so totally addicted to this fabulous little stamp set. What could be more perfect for making those Family & Friends greetings cards! I know I will be using this loads and loads. Today I will be inspiring you to make a masculine style greetings card however check out some other similar projects linked at the bottom of this post.
I normally find it a bit more challenging to make a masculine style greetings card however this set allows for so much fun in personalising the stamped image to the recipient. There are different body shapes, hairstyles and even different faces, including beards! I love a tidy beard on a guy.
In today’s project I’ve actually tweaked one of the hairstyles slightly to create a winter hat for this lovely guy. Simply stamp the hair but alter the stamped image using a Stampin’ Write Marker to create a hat. Easy as that! Doesn’t he just look so snug in his hat and woollen jumper. If you’re wondering about the cat, well this guy just loves his cat so much I decided to include it on his birthday card. 🙂 But let’s keep that between you and me! 😉
Would you believe I used one of the papers from the So In Love Designer Series Paper pack? These papers are so beautifully feminine however, this particular design works well in a masculine card. Would you agree? Make sure to check it out on the gorgeous new Seasonal Catalogue.
Tips to make a masculine style greetings card using Family & Friends stamp set
This project is so much fun to make.
- Use your Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to do the ‘marker to stamp’ technique on one of the ‘hair’ stamps. By colouring only the outside of the hair, I was able to stamp it in place as a rough guide to outline and size, then I tweaked by colouring it in to shape a hat. Alternatively you might be quite good at drawing hats freehand! lol 🙂
- I applied some white gel pen dots to decorate the hat. It just needed a little detail added.
- Use the Ivory Stampin’ Blends marker for skin tone and the Bronze Stampin’ Blends marker for beard.
- Stamp the shirt on to Designer Series Paper with Tuxedo Memento Black inkpad and then fussy cut with your Paper Snips to ‘paper piece’ onto the card.
