Welcome to the world of In Color Collections.
Before we dive in to the delicious In Color collections, let me explain why you’ll find the word ‘colour’ spelt two different ways throughout this page. It’s quite simply that I live in the U.K so we spell it as ‘colour’ however, Stampin’ Up! are an American company and they spell it as ‘color’. So to keep the name of the collections correct as to the spelling in the catalogues, I will refer to the In Color collections with the American version of the spelling. Clear as mud?
In Color Collections:
Bang on trend
In case you don’t know what In Colors are, they are a selection of 5 new colours created by Stampin’ Up! each year to keep your colour choices bang on trend. In Color Collections sit alongside standard colour families to add even more gorgeousness to your selection of colour choices.
Coordination across the range
There are always 2 sets of In Colors to choose from. For example, in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue are In Colour choices of 2018-2020 and 2019-2021, as illustrated below. They are available to you for 2 years as Classic Stampin’ Pads, Cardstock, Stampin’ Write Markers, Designer Series Paper, Accessories, Ribbon etc.
Fresh and exciting
Each year, 1 In Color collection will retire, to be replaced by a new one, keeping your colour choices fresh and exciting. I love that Stampin’ Up! are experts at colour coordination. It takes all the hard work out of your crafting.
As you can see, even 1 set of In Colors will give you a beautiful range of colours to choose from.
What’s not to love about the In Colors! The new 2019-2021 In Colors are much softer compared to the fantastic boldness in the 2018-2020 selection. I absolutely love them all. A little tip for you … to ensure perfect colour coordination when purchasing Designer Series Paper, check the coordinated colours listed with them. You’ll find this in the catalogue, beside the product picture. This will guide you to what colours you need to coordinate with your fabulous papers.
And make sure to check out all the fantastic ribbon and embellishments too! I’ve learned the hard way to make sure to fully coordinate all elements of my projects.
2019-2021 In Color Comparisons
Below are some illustrations showing where the new In Colors fit in with the current Stampin’ Up! colour family collections.
Only the colours that are flagged as ‘new’ are ‘In Colors’. The colours to each side of the new colour are from the ‘standard family collections’, shown to illustrate the colour comparison.
