A Brief History of World Card Making Day:
From a thoughtful gift to a necessary part of proper etiquette, cards have played an important role in social circles for hundreds of years. For example, the calling card of the Victorian era (also known as the visiting card) was a small piece of paper bearing the name of the visitor. This was often decorated in some way to make it unique to that person. The card was given to the servant of a household to deliver to the master of the house, thereby announcing the arrival of the visitor.
There are so many more types of cards! Calling Cards, Dance Cards, Business Cards, Greeting Cards, RSVP Cards and many more. What will you be making on World Card Making Day?
How to celebrate World Card Making Day:
The best way to celebrate World Card Making Day is, of course, to learn how to make your own cards! If you live local to me you can come along to my classes each Wednesday night. Contact me directly for more information. (call 07813110420)
